The Sound Post Ltd was founded in London in 1993 by the late
Stephen Jocelyn, a professional cellist, who wanted to
improve the quality of student instruments available in the
UK. The Primavera range was introduced in 1995 and
revolutionised the student violin market, by introducing for
the first time styrofoam cases and tailpieces with integral
adjusters as part of the outfit as well as a much improved
quality of workmanship in the student violin.
